Who Won Best Drama at the Daytime Emmys 2026?
General Hospital beat Beyond the Gates, Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless. TVLine reports that the ABC soap won for the sixth straight year. It also took home the writing, casting and guest-performer awards, which brought its total to four.
Genie Francis received a Lifetime Achievement Award, too, so the night was big for the soap’s fans. As a result, GH left with the biggest single honor, though it did not sweep the night.
Who Won the Acting Awards at the Daytime Emmys 2026?
| Category | Winner | Show |
|---|---|---|
| Lead Actress | Tamara Tunie | Beyond the Gates |
| Lead Actor | Scott Clifton | The Bold and the Beautiful |
| Supporting Actress | Beth Maitland | The Young and the Restless |
| Emerging Talent | Ambyr Michelle | Beyond the Gates |

Tunie won her first-ever Emmy. In her speech, she thanked “a host of Black actresses who paved the way for me,” beginning with Cicely Tyson, according to Yahoo’s coverage of the ceremony. Clifton, meanwhile, claimed his fourth career trophy and told the crowd he felt “lucky” to work in this industry, Gold Derby reported.
How Did Beyond the Gates Do at the Daytime Emmys 2026?
Very well for a newcomer. The show won four awards in its first year of eligibility, including Tunie’s lead actress prize and Michelle’s emerging talent award, Deadline reports. It also won for lighting direction and hairstyling and makeup, according to Variety.
That performance matters because GH has dominated the top prize for years. Still, Beyond the Gates proved that a new soap can compete for major recognition right away.
Which Talk Show Won at the Daytime Emmys 2026?
The Kelly Clarkson Show won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series in what Deadline calls its final year. It led all series with five wins, ahead of GH and Beyond the Gates with four each. As a result, the show leaves daytime with the night’s biggest total.
A Different Breed and The Young and the Restless also scored three wins each, per Variety.
