Zendaya will lead Alex Garland’s next A24 sci-fi film, and cameras are expected to roll in 2027.

The film has no title yet. Garland is writing and directing it himself, with A24 backing the project.
The story is still under wraps, and no co-stars are confirmed. Right now it’s just Zendaya’s name.
Ex Machina, Annihilation and Devs made his name. Smart, unsettling sci-fi is clearly his territory.
Her A24 history includes Euphoria and this year’s dark rom-com The Drama, opposite Robert Pattinson.
Dune: Part Three, Be My Baby and Shrek 5 are also on her slate, so the schedule stays busy.
He is also handling Elden Ring, due March 3, 2028, while this new film moves ahead.
